South African Healthtech Mia Raises USD 920 K To Expand Affordable Dental Care

May 26, 2026

Mia Healthcare Technologies, a Cape Town-based healthtech, has raised ZAR 15 M (about USD 920 K) from the Vumela Fund to expand access to affordable dental and orthodontic care across Southern Africa.

Founded in 2021 by Dr. Zane Stennings and Dr. Karishma Soni, Mia operates a growing network of mobile and fixed dental clinics while producing locally manufactured clear aligners at lower cost.

The funding will support geographic expansion, increased manufacturing capacity, and broader access to quality dental services. Based in South Africa, Mia Healthcare aims to address barriers to dental care, including affordability, location, and limited access to specialist treatment.
