Nigerian edtech startup Codar has raised USD 1.5 M in a mix of equity and debt financing to expand its AI and digital skills training programmes across Africa.

Backed by KWE4 AFRICA Venture Studio, the Nigeria-based company was founded by David Sokefun, Williams Olusegun, John Oduoye, and Emmanuel Asaolu.

Codar provides project-based training in artificial intelligence, software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, and other in-demand digital skills.

The new funding will support the expansion of its AI programmes, strengthen its online learning platform, establish new learning hubs, and increase scholarship opportunities. Codar currently serves more than 5,000 active learners and says it has reached over 70,000 students, positioning itself to help address Africa’s growing demand for digital talent.
